Today, I fucked up by leaving a girl 5 minutes into the Tinder date I didn’t know I was on.
Last night there was a barn dance and I went with a group of my friends. The whole point of a barn dance is to go to a barn and drink, so we drank, and I got drunk. Then the group decided to go out to a bar, and I got even more drunk.
My friend “Susie” had been holding my phone all night, but unbeknownst to me, had been messaging a couple of my tinder matches. “Claire” and “Liz” had matched with me about a week earlier and we had been hitting it off. Susie, being the great wingwoman she is, actually got me a date with Claire. So I’m at the bar, I’m dancing, then all of a sudden I see a familiar face.
“Hey, you look familiar!”
“Yeah, I’m Claire.”
Wow, what a small world. What are the chances?
“Oh no way, from Tinder!”
I’m sure she thought I was a complete idiot at that point, but from what I remember we had decent conversation that lasted about 5 minutes. I, being the polite person I am, decided to let her get back to her friends so I say my goodbyes and take off.
This morning I wake up and remember seeing Claire, but I also feel like it could have been a dream. Then I go on Tinder and see the following conversation…
Me: “Come out to Bill’s!”
Claire: “I’m at Jill’s is there cover at Bill’s?”
“Only if you’re under 21”
“Which I am haha. Is it crowded? Come to Jill’s, it’s bumpin”
“Bill’s is awesome though, they are playing awesome music! And it’s only $5”
“How long will you be there? I’m outside. The line is super long.”
Too Long; Didnt Read > Claire leaves her friends and a good time at another bar, walks out in the cold to meet up with me, waits in line for a bit, pays an unnecessary cover, finds me, then I walk away from her after 5 minutes.
This is really rough.
